A Review of Seminyak, Nusa Dua & Uluwatu Hotels

Recently we sent some of our travel consultants to Bali as part of our ongoing program to familiarise our people with the products we sell and provide the best service to our clients. The following is a review of the properties they visited.

We started our trip at the Double Six Luxury Suites in Seminyak and spent 2 nights in Ocean View Suites. One word..Incredible! A gorgeous luxury property. Brand new! The 24 hr butler is something they want us all to know about..ironing, washing, hairdryer..nothing is too much trouble.

The restaurants are amazing, located on the upper level, with open-air and overlooking the beach. They have an Italian restaurant (with a Kiwi chef – YEA!) Theood is reasonably priced and tasty. Great cocktails…Great location, beachfront (few doors down from Royal Beach) Pool is apparently the longest in Asia – it’s HUGE! The resort also has Free wifi.

The Downtown Villas  is a brand new resort with 9 villas, all  of them identical and beautiful.  Pools are a really decent, lap pool size, with a big sun deck and sun loungers.  The resort is very private, located off a busy road but you can’t hear a thing. With only a 2 minute walk to the shops/restaurants, 10 minutes to the beach and free wifi, I could of easily stayed here a week.
Alot of you will know this one! The Bali Garden Beach Resort is located in South Kuta and situated right on South Kuta beach, opposite Waterbom and next to Discovery Mall. It has 10 restaurants (5 just opening this month) and the rooms are nice and big, some agents thought they were quite tired … bathrooms definitely need a look at but great family property, nice big pool & swim up bar! Main restaurant is right on the esplanade facing the beach – beautiful!

11 - Center Pool

The Villas  has lovely big Villa’s with huge pools and spacious gardens!  The Kitchen/dining area is open air and Prana spa is so beautiful. We indulged in a ad 2 hour treatment.

Grand Nikko Nusa Dua! Wow this place is HUGE! We stayed in the Club rooms which gave you access to the Club Lounge (free drinks and afternoon tea every day! Highly recommend!) The resort is located right on the beach and they have just opened new Villas there which are absolutely stunning and very private. Breakfast here was the highlight! Lots of choice. About 10 different cuisines to choose from. Carbonara or seaweed soup for breaky anyone?! Lots of families here as the pool is ideal..four pools plus a waterslide!

The last hotel we visited was the Alilia Uluwatu. Location wise it was a little isolated but we were told that most people stay 2 nights or more and don’t leave the property. They also do 220 weddings a year! We viewed the same 3 Bedroom Villa that Hugh Jackman and his family stayed in (and extended a week!) Breathtaking view right on the cliff top … the sunset Cabana (pic in the brochure) is just unbelievable! The meal in the Indonesian restaurant was the best we’d had in Bali. Pure 5* luxury.
