Nusa Dua, Ubud & Seminyak
One of our agents recently visited Bali. Below is a review of the hotels and places he experienced.
Good service. Would definitely recommend, especially for such short flights of 5 hours. Being a serviced airline you receive a meal and drink so a winner.
Getting through the Visa point was easy. However we experienced a very long wait through immigration. It really does depend on how many flights have just landed beforehand.
Super impressed with this 5-star resort. It was evident that they pride themselves on their customer service and attention to detail. The hotel has stunning views of the Indian Ocean where it sits atop a cliff. With lifts straight down to the ground floor beach level its cliffside location is not a negative. Their family suites were very spacious. The location of the Pool Access rooms is awesome, with the direct entry pool only being metres away from their lagoon style main pool. Highly recommend!
This is new, edgy, fresh and incredibly modern with neutral tones throughout. We saw the Royal Suite Ocean Court room. From the balcony you get a excellent view of the state of the art pool surrounds below and the ocean. Luxurious rooms with an impressive modern touch! The view from the bath-tub overlooking the pools in the courtyard below is Wow!
This is the all suite section of the Mulia brand. Comes with a distinct boutique feel. Definitely for couples/honeymooners. You receive butler service in all room types, and also access to the Mulia Resort. It offers Club like features. Inspected both the Baron Suite & Earl Suite, both offering ocean view. Both rooms very large, offering immaculate furnishings. And the view from both room types overlooking the amazing pools with cabanas and the ocean is a must.
Courtyard by Marriott
The Courtyard by Marriott is quite a large resort with 250 rooms. It is inland, set back from any of the other seaside resorts. To compensate this the resort does have its own beach club to offer its guests. The rooms were nice and modern, constantly upgraded. The pool area was a highlight, as there are quite a few lagoon style pools meandering throughout the garden setting. Overall a nice resort.
The Alila Ubud has long been a favourite to offer guests looking for that tranquil secluded Ubud valley experience, and it did not disappoint! A feature of all rooms is no TV, as their mantra is for guests to unwind and totally chill out. The resort itself has that boutique touch. The Pool Villa is amazing. It does not look over the valley, rather it is set back and housed in its own private high wall compound, which adds to the romance and secludedness of it all. Quite a large pool too for a villa, definitely not just a plunge pool size. In summarizing, I cannot speak highly enough of the Alila group.
This hotel boasts a great location in the centre of Ubud village. Situated at the edge of Ubud’s sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, it is a quiet restful 3.5 star hotel that caters to the needs of those who want to be central and have good facilities without the price tag. All rooms are quite large. Their Deluxe rooms back onto and overlook nearby rice fields which adds to their appeal. The 2 pools are set amongst leafy gardens and offer a great escape for anyone wanting to cool off. A very affordable hotel.
Kamandalu Resort & Spa
This stunning idyllic retreat consisting of 58 villas is built in the traditional style of a Balinese village. With its nearby terraced rice fields and tropical forests, the surrounds are immaculate. Their Ubud Chalet is classy, a great sized chalet and really well designed for entry level. The bathroom had loads of Wow factor! And next was the Deluxe Pool Villa, one of the nicest villas I have ever seen. Huge in size. Outdoor shower. Amazing grounds, complete with an incredible infinity pool overlooking the deep valley. Also offers a shaded “Bale Bengong” (Balinese style day bed) to complete the package. A fine hosted dinner here complimented this fantastic resort. Totally impressed with the Kamandalu, and it is definitely on my bucket list of resorts to stay at.
The Royal Pita Maha
Situated incredibly close to the Agung River, to the point where you can hear the rushing water below, the Royal Pita Maha exudes charm and heritage with art a key feature of its design. The ambience of the resort was evident. Due to very high occupancy we only got to see the Royal House, which is an amazing experience for a couple wishing to experience the finest things a resort can offer. It was simply a huge sanctuary with luxurious touches. Yes it was easy to appreciate everything this high class resort has to offer.
The Villas Bali Hotel & Spa
I was looking forward to seeing the Villas Bali as I have sold this property for many years, and it lived up to its awesome reputation. The Villas offer privacy and luxury within the heart of Seminyak. Each villa boasts large spacious grounds, with a very Balinese touch to them. The gardens were immaculate. Very private, yet so close to the many shops and restaurants that Seminyak is renowned for. The 2 bedroom villa had ample space. You could clearly see that the Villas pride themselves on their customer service. A fantastic 4 star villa choice.
Breezes Bali Resort & Spa
The Breezes Bali Resort & Spa has become one of the most popular 4 star resorts in Bali, and it is easy to see why. Perfectly situated in between the beach and Jalan Seminyak. The Breezes has great facilities that cater for families, couples, groups of friends etc. Inviting pools and swim-up pool bar encourage you to just unwind and relax. A very affordable day spa allows you to be pampered on-site. The Junior Suite is very large, fresh updated décor, with great terrace for relaxing on. All in all a great value 4 star resort.
Double Six Luxury Hotel
I would have to say the Double Six Luxury Hotel is one of the most stylish, modern, edgy hotels I have ever seen. Everything in this hotel makes a bold statement. The Deluxe Suite Pool Access is awesome. Very large rooms with the emphasis on making a statement. And the terrace leading out toward the pool deck is great. We also visited the day spa, Acqua Perla Spa, without doubt the most modern futuristic spa you will ever visit. The 2 bedroom Master Suite with its absolute beachfront location was huge. Overlooking Seminyak beach I could not think of a better location to stay. I will definitely be coming back to this one!
